The Unsheathed Quill – Manifesto

Whenever we start things, we list promises to ourselves.

This time, we will stay on the diet.  No exceptions.

This house, we will clean things every day.  It won’t become a mess, not ever.

This year, I’m going to go to the gym every other day.  Without fail.

Sensing a pattern?  These promises we make to ourselves are so easily broken, because we often don’t tell anyone what our plans are, or more often than not blame our circumstances for breaking our word.

Not today.  Not here, and not now.  Now, I am done with scraping by.  I am done with ‘good enough’.  I’ve lived small long enough, buried my talents out of fear that they would be mocked.

This site is my time.  This site is my house.  This year is my year.  No broken promises.  No shattered dreams.  No drinking to forget, no burying my regret.

The Unsheathed Quill will deliver.  On time.  Every time.  If I have to go sleepless some nights, if I have to bludgeon my brain with enough caffeine to make even Tweek tell me to take it easy, I don’t care.  I am finished with breaking faith with myself and with everyone else.

So, when The Unsheathed Quill announces a release schedule, that schedule will be adhered to.

The first release schedule is this:  The Story So Far will be the thrice weekly story blog portion of The Unsheathed Quill.  Posts every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.  Posts will be uploaded the midnight of the day in question.  Monday at 12 AM, Wednesday at 12 AM, and Friday at 12 AM.  Every week.  No questions asked, no excuses made.  If I must write around a mound of tissues from being ill, I will do it.

Next Project – Story Podcast.  I’m still in negotiations to bring a rather massive voice talent on board.  If I can make that a reality, then the podcast schedule will be set by said talent through negotiations to fit their schedule.  Then I will move as many mountains as I need to in order to meet that schedule.

Expect great things for I will work and train to make such things reality.  No questions, no exceptions, no excuses.

I promise.  Not just to myself, but also to all of you.

Sincerely,

Justin Wallace
