After the Silence – Part 11

And that’s a wrap!

Wow.  It’s hard to think that the first leg of this journey is over.  I’ve been working every night (or every other night) since February 1st so actually finding myself crossing the finish line is a bit jarring.

I’ve gone on at some length about my thoughts on endings, so I’ll save you a rehash and just share in a brief moment of triumph and respite.

Which will last all of 24 hours, as I’m going to tear the ending offline and begin the real work of writing: editing.

That’s right.  Oh, you thought writing ‘The End’ meant you got to ride into the sunset and jump into a lake of marshmallows?

Nay nay.  Once you’re done with the piece, you’re at the… 1/3 point?  Not even the halfway point.  You’re not finished until you’re several hundred hours into editing and you hate every single brain-cell, individually and completely, which has led you to this minefield of agony.

Have I mentioned that writing is a bit crazy?  Cause I feel like that needs to be stated every now and then.

The next story… isn’t ready yet.  I have a ton of ideas, and I’m bouncing around a few of them, but honestly until Thursday night I’m probably not going to have a real solid grasp on what I want to do next.

Fantasy seems to be treating me well right now, so I’ll also be doing my utmost to finish up The Reign is Over and get to work editing that particular novella.  I’m not under a time crunch for it, but I’m also not going to dawdle.  I’d really like to have that released before too much longer.

And that’s about it!  Thanks for staying with me as I hammered this story into submission.  Having this website to use as my vehicle for self-accountability as well as a platform to both invite and pursue new ideas for my stories is a godsend.  I cannot wait to see what I write next, and I can’t wait to take you all along for the ride.

After The Silence – The End

Hey everyone!  Thank you so much for reading this with me as I got it all on paper.  It’s so hard to get most of these projects across the finish line, and I couldn’t have done it without all of you.  Thank you again, and stay tuned for more goodies!

Sincerely,
